Lost city. Lost world. Lost universe. Lost everything. Everything is gone . The world used to be beautiful, so beautiful you would want to explore every inch. It had millions of beautiful colors to turn it into a sight to see making up of every living thing around you. Buildings would soar so high they would disappear in the clouds, and billions of people that would complete it like a CPU or GPU would for an AI. The world that you once knew, was such a beautiful sight to see, is now all gone. Buildings now have crumbled to the ground, colors have faded, and things that we never knew would walk this planet, do. People once created a future here and now it’s gone. Every time we get a chance to get it back, it’s being ripped from our hands once again. We continue to move and hide from those things that have caused our pain and destruction of our world. They go by many names: The Unknown, Ezrroids, Killoids, and so on. But I call them the Unknown. They continue to adapt in a world where they don’t belong causing us to lose every fight and pushing us one step back. These “things” continue to rebuild what we have destroyed and create more powerful ammunition. This is the world we live in. The world that was once beautiful. It’s time to tell our story of how it all began.
April 28, 2019. The one who started all this is known as Dr. Samuel Nelson. Dr. Nelson was a robotics engineer, doctor, and a couple of other things, but that doesn’t matter. He had this idea that one day our world would be more efficient and modified for the future. He wanted our planet to prosper and reach the next level in the world of technology. Dr. Nelson wanted to create a new highly developed AI system, a system that could change our future worked and it sure enough did. He worked very hard to create the best system that had the mind of an average human. He wanted his creation to be able to do any task a human can do. When he built his system, he implanted into a human form machine. It had the shape of a human body, but with robotic limbs. The metal used to create it was ballistic steel so that nothing could damage or pierce it. Throughout his studies he created many other prototypes that were created for specific purposes. When he got finished with his creation, he brought it to the Board. The Board was amazed with his prototype. They signed him into a deal and wanted him to create more. By November, different prototypes were being used throughout the country.
March 28, 2020. Everyone was doing great. The prototypes were being used all over the country, and they were being modified everyday with better systems. Dr. Nelson wanted to improve them with every chance that he got. One day the prototypes started to malfunction. They started to stray away from the tasks that they were programmed to do and started to cause a ruckus. So, Dr. Nelson created a new modified system that wouldn’t cause any more problems, but what he didn’t know was that it started to create its own AI system and programs. When they found out the problem, they tried to stop it from created a new system, but they were too late. All around the world, the AI systems started to act haywire and cause destruction in mass cities. Everyone grew scared. On March 30, 2020, the system crashed, and they were no longer capable of keeping track of their systems due to an override and a new program. The system shut down causing a massive power outage across the globe. It was dark for about two weeks, and that’s when everything went south. Multiple disaster started to happen all over the globe, and it was those things that were causing them. The government got involved to try and take out as many as those robotic things as possible, but nothing seemed to work. Our military was no match for them. They destroyed everything, ruining everything in their path.
October of 2023. The world grew lonely, dark, and cold. Only three years had passed, and it only took one full day for them things to wipe out the whole entire world. People don’t even recall what happened that day because it happened so fast. Many peopled died that day. Soon after the event, people went in hiding. There was only a little left of us, and people grew greedy and violent. As the years passed, we have to create multiple groups around the globe. Ever since we have been getting ready to stop them in their tracks, but every time they’ve only seemed to be getting stronger. Those things are stationed everywhere and walk what is left of the earth. They either kill on site or they take you away. My groups and I have managed to come in contact with multiple other forces to try and stop them. We have made plans to destroy every one of their bases until there is no more left. We have scouts that roam around spying on the bases to gather intel about them. We recently have found out that in what used to be Washington D.C., they hold a bases that holds a power source that help create their armies and ammunition. If we take out the source, then things become a lot easier. Lately things have been getting harder and harder to manage with the little food and no water that we have. After the attack the earth became nothing but a sand dune, but in some places, it was nothing but rubble.
May 27, 2025. The people were able to communicate more and more with the left-over radios we were able to find and fix while trying to scavenge for food and water. We cannot talk for long periods of time because then those things can track us from anywhere. We started to plan how we wanted to attack the bases. Their armies were growing, and their ammunition was getting more efficient. We only had some military ammunition from old bunkers we found with the help of some men we saved that were in the military, but that was about it. It was just enough to last us for a couple more months. We only used the ammunition if it was a life or death situation. We can all just say it wasn’t easy finding most of the bases, we had to have multiple people positioned in different parts of the world. But we managed to find the closer ones to secure a big enough area for us to grow as a community. There were bases stationed what was once in New York, New Jersey, Chicago, Philadelphia, and Washington. Our first attack would be 10 days, and our free was that we weren’t ready. We radioed all the other stations to check if we were on schedule. Everyone needed to be in there set positions by sundown in order to attack the first bases. This was the moment we have been waiting for, our first step to victory.
June 6, 2025. The screams were so loud that they overpowered the gunfire. People were fleeing from all different directions and some were just stuck in their tracks. People were dying everywhere you turned your head. We were no match for the enemy, and we knew we weren’t. We had this idea stuck in our heads that we were ready, we just couldn’t wait for it to be over. We had to retreat. Words can’t describe the amount of loss that we had that day. Every chance that we got, and failed, we just grew deeper into fear and giving up. My people and I needed a better plan, so for the next couples of days we cared for the injured and got the rest ready for war. Everyone was sent out for different tasks: to scavenge food, more weapons, stuff to build weapons, and to get information about the bases. The rest of the stations all agreed that we would meet up to attack Washington in July. There couldn’t be anymore hold ups this was our only chance to take out the power source, so we needed to come up with a diversion. Each crew wanted to hit all the bases on the map with, and while half the crew was doing that the rest of us would head for Washington. This plan was going to work. My crew and I packed up what we could and set out for a journey to Washington.
July 3, 2025. The journey was very long and dry. A couple times we got lost and had to back track and sometimes we just didn’t know where we were going. We lost some people along the way due to dehydration and other illnesses. We finally made it to Washington on July 1. It has only been a couple days since we started to watch the base and watch its every movement and what those things did on a daily basis. We needed to make sure there were no mistakes along the way. The only real problems were that we didn’t know where the power source was even located or if there was even one. If we were able to get into the facility it would be a maze down there to even find it. The next problem was the security gate, we would need way more explosives we came with to take it down. All we needed to do was wait for the rest of the groups to get here in order to intervene. Later that night the rest of the groups finally approached, they to lose a couple of their people along the way. The groups all caught up and reported what the plan was for tomorrow night. We were ready to end this once and for all.
July 4, 2025. The groups decided that we weren’t going to attack until dark. It was better if they couldn’t easily see us in plain sight when we approached. These machines were more modified than they were the day they were made. They were able to detect a human five miles away. Their steel was basically bullet proof unless you repeatedly shot them in the head which is known to be their “soft” spot. The sun started to set, and for some reason on this day it was the most beautiful thing I’ve seen since I walked on this earth. It was beautiful, almost like a sign of hope. Besides the point we were ready. It was fully dark out and we have all gathered and made sure the walkways were safe. When we approached the compound, we had to make sure this whole place was surrounded because we couldn’t let anything get out. We gave the groups behind the compound the go, and before you knew it, we were at war: men vs. machine. The groups behind used explosives to infiltrate the compound, and it was up to the rest of us to get to the gate and destroy the power source. The path to the gate was easy to get to, it was almost as if they wanted us to open the gate. We didn’t know what would be waiting on the other side, but we expected there to be a good dozen of those things waiting for us. We couldn’t risk using the explosives we had on the gate we needed to find another way. At this very moment, time was running out. We either did this today or never get the chance again.
Precious time was running out. I needed to find another way out because this was our only chance. A couple members checked around for other ways to get inside the compound. We finally found an airlock that we can easily fit into. With no time to waste we headed for the airlock and entered through. This place was below the ground floor, and It was completely dark down there. It was like an old sewer lining or underground facility. As we continued our dreadful journey through the compound, we left individual groups behind to keep watch and make sure groups of those machines didn’t come down. After peering down long shadowy, musty halls we noticed this bright light. It was blocked off by doors, but we continued to pursue. Peering through the window you could see this big ball of light, and it was so blinding that even the blind man would look away. It was being held up by only pillars. After realizing that this was the power source, we entered the room and started to set up the explosives. We needed to act fast and keep a close eye out. While we were setting up the rest of the groups set up outside were forced inside with us. We were under attack and very much outnumbered. They were coming from everywhere. They were like spiders on the walls. As the rest of us fired upon the machines, the rest continued to set up the explosives. They were set. I needed to make a decision. It was either all of us or some of us. I gave the call to blow the whole thing and for a moment I closed my eyes for what was about to happen, but at that moment the rest of the crew busted in and started to fire back. They gave us a clear path to get out of there. We set the timer and we locked the rest of the machines in the room by placing a steel bar through the door handles. All of us had about five minutes to get out of the compound and take cover.
As we reached the surface, we looked for any signs of cover because with the explosives and the power source the blast would reach about a 10-mile radius destroying anything in its path. The machines started to come out of the front gate, and it was only a matter of time. Then before you knew it…BOOM! Everyone held on for dear life as the explosion took place destroying everything. It was finally over. There was silence. Everyone, thankfully, was safe for the most part. I ordered everyone to back track and to go over the site and to shoot all machines seen. We needed to make sure that they were dead. We couldn’t really do much because the explosion left a huge whole in the earth. It’s now November 23, 2025. Even though some of those things are still out there, we put another fight on hold. We needed to make time for the people. We moved around a lot to try and find any other forms of life. In the end we did. There were trees, bugs, couple birds, and many other signs of life. It still needs a little more, but this was a sign to a new beginning. My father once told me that “whatever we start we shall finish”, and even though he started this war he wasn’t able to see it through to the finish, but I his daughter, was able to see it through. To a new beginning.
