The Fight for Life

The year is 2060, a new government has risen from the devastation of WWIII. Due to the destruction of WWIII, the UN was disbanded, and all governments were dissolved. Two billion lives were lost, and many countries were decimated during the war. The Council of Five rose from the ashes to provide stability and promise to the world. The Council of Five consists of five representatives from four countries and one elected leader. The representatives came from the former US, the EU, Russia, and China. The fifth person on the council is also known as the Supreme Councilor is elected by the world population.

The Supreme Councilor elected was a woman from China. China was one of the most devastated countries in the war. China being the most devastated and the government essentially gone, one woman took over control to try to help the people recover. She was able to negotiate with other countries on behalf of the former country for supplies and help. She was a hero among the Chinese people and her role in former China helped her win the title of Supreme Councilor.

Many nuclear weapons were used during the war, so the CF dismantled and destroyed all nuclear weapons. All nuclear missiles were shot into space and detonated in a massive explosion. All ground nukes were taken apart and used for other things, such as reactors. The CF took a drastic step that day. They wanted to unify the world towards one goal, the advancement of humankind. But humans may not have been the only ones to see the explosion.

The year 2160, 100 years after the CF took control of the planet.

The world is unified under one government and prospering because of it. With no more war, people can be safe and stay where they want. With new inventions for crime reduction and prevention, the streets have never been safer. Now that 100’s of billions of dollars isn’t going into military budgets; more money can be given to science for new treatments for terrible diseases like Alzheimer’s and MS.

The world’s space agencies have long been merged into one, ISA or the International Space Agency is the culmination of every space agency both government and privately run into one. With massive amounts of funding over the last 100 years, we have gone back to the moon and built a base on it, as well as many other places in the solar system. Bases off-world has helped launch humankind into colonizing the solar system and being able to grow without limitations. After WWIII ended the population was five billion, now it is 250 billion. Humankind moved past earth and went on to live on the Moon, Mars, four of Saturn’s moons, Europa and Neptune.

June 8th, 2160, a day that everyone on earth knows. That day was the first time in history an alien race had ever contacted us. The message was broadcast to every corner of the planet. “We are the Capria, we mean you no harm. We are your creators. We will arrive in ten years. Do not attack. We are your allies.” This message brought both fear and hope to humans.

The CF planned for six months and told the world what we were going to do. The CF announced that the message was real and that it came from the stars. The world would hope for the best and prepare for the worst. A massive space fleet was to be built, 100 ships each with 1000 fighter planes for space combat. The Capria are an unknown variable, their fighting capabilities, level of technology or anything else about them are unknown. We do not know what we could be up against.

10 years later

The people of Earth as well as the surrounding colonies waited and waited for the Capria. The date was June 8th, 2170, ten years after we received the message. It was a month before the outer colonies on Neptune detected a ship. The satellites orbiting the solar system detected four ships. The ships were massive, but only 25 life signs were detected on each ship. Was this it? Was this all that was left of their species or is this all they need to destroy us? Were these even the Capria or some other alien race?

The ships were much larger than any human vessels. The massive fleet that was built stood ready for the ships. A large laser grid had been constructed to slice through the alien ships and destroy them without a confrontation. The human vessels stayed behind the grid and waited for the ships to be destroyed.

The only problem was that the alien ships rolled right through it. We activated the grid and the aliens purposefully went through it to show us they cannot be defeated. All human vessels targeted the first alien ship and opened fire. 100 of the most advanced ships ever created by humankind, as well as 100,000 small fighter planes fired at the ship. And… Nothing. All this firepower and the alien ship didn’t even have to raise their shields.

All hope was lost. The alien ship reached Earth and stayed in orbit around the planet. A smaller ship dropped out of orbit and landed on the front lawn of the CF’s capital building. Out came five alien creatures. The aliens looked remarkably like humans. They had a human face and eyes, with large pointed ears. They were tall, the shortest of the five was eight feet tall. They had four fingers that were arranged like a claw machine in an arcade. Their skin was a pinkish color with a mix of green.

The protectorate, CF’s version of the secret service, opened fire. They were equipped with the latest in military technology. The newest version of laser guns and body armor. The aliens were wearing some type of advanced armor that absorbed the laser blasts. The aliens fired back some type of concussion device that knocked out all communication as well as all the protectorate soldiers.

The aliens walked into the capital. All members were present due to the appearance of the aliens. They were defenseless, waiting to be slaughtered. Instead of killing them the aliens helped them up and sat them down. “We are the Capria. We told you not to attack us. It’s a good thing we disabled the auto-attack feature. We would have decimated your fleet.” The Council looked on in astonishment as the Capria continued to talk.

They told the world that they created us. That they planted the seeds of life after the dinosaurs were killed off, and that they might have nudged the asteroid that killed the dinosaurs. They also told us that they needed our help. The 25 life signs we detected were what was left of their species. They had been overwhelmed by an unrelenting race of aliens called the Zycron.

The Zycron were much less advanced and far less intelligent. Their ships are slower, and their weapons were even comparable to humans. Their strength is in their sheer number. At the last encounter between the Capria and the Zycron, the Capria determined their numbers to be well into the tens of trillions. The Zycron are small creatures, furry and dangerous. They were around three and a half feet tall and had thick coats of purple-ish fur. They had pointed ears like the Capria and close to the same humanoid face. They had a complex hierarchy of offspring producing queens that would create the soldier and worker classes.  The Zycron are ferocious, they eat any living thing. They serve and protect the prime, the queen of the Zycron, the first of the Zycron.

The Zycron prime is the latest in the line of Zycron primes. She was the last descendant of the line of primes that have ruled for thousands of years. They are known for their ancestors being the first true Zycron after the Great Division from the Capria. They ruled on the premise that they were superior to all other Zycron due to their lineage. Zycron prime was the giver of life in the eyes of all Zycron. Prime gave birth to other queens which in turn gave birth to the other classes of Zycron such as, the workers and warriors.

What the Capria never told the humans but was later found out by a select few was that the Great Division was engineered by the Capria. They were created to become the working class of the Capria society of the time. They were basically engineered to be slaves of the Capria. Many Capria of the time agreed with this decision, but a small faction known as the Sons of Liberty would not watch this horror continue. The Zycron were slaves to the Capria for 100 years while the Sons of Liberty gained the resources and personnel to help the Zycron captives. The Sons of Liberty were able to rescue a Zycron queen and around 20 warrior class Zycron to protect her. After the escape of the Zycron and treachery of the Suns of Liberty, all Zycron and any Sons of Liberty still left on Capria Prime were sent to a distant planet and the planet was destroyed killing all remaining Zycron and the Sons of Liberty. This was the beginning of the end for the Capria 1000s of years may have passed, but the Zycron never forgot.

As the world waited to see if the council was dead or not, something amazing happened. The Capria walked out of the building went to their ship and presented the Council with a gift. The gift was a weapon, a sign of faith and allegiance to the Capria. The Council announced that we were going to help our allies the Capria and fight the Zycron.

For two years we built up our fleet with the help of the Capria. The fleet went from 100 ships to 1000 with more advanced Capria weapons and metal to make the ships stronger. Three of the Capria ships had to be dismantled to make the Human fleet stronger. Even with all the modifications to the fleet, it will be an intense battle against the Zycron. The last Capria ship was the largest one, it was their most advanced ship and it would be better suited to stay operational and help in the fight.

On September 4th, 2172 the fleet left our solar system. The Human fleet consisted of 100,000 ships, 10,000,000 small fighter planes, and 1 large Capria warship. According to the Capria, the first sighting of the Zycron should take about a month. Three weeks in our sensors started to pick up ships in the area. The Capria alerted us that it was a Zycron scouting fleet. They had never seen the Zycron so far away from the prime before.

All ships readied for combat and waited to fire. The Zycron scouting fleet did not notice the Human fleet in time and was promptly destroyed. The Capria warned us that the Zycron sent a message back to the main fleet before they were destroyed. The message alerted all Zycron ships that they had been destroyed, and the Capria were able to tell how many ships the Zycron had as well as their numbers. They determined that they must have run out of food in their galaxy and the entire species was moving. They had 100,000,000 ships each with 1 million Zycron.

The Capria were angry, The Zycron had destroyed an entire galaxy and were on the move. They felt responsible for the deaths of millions of races of aliens. We both determined that attacking now was the only option to stop the Zycron before they destroy another galaxy of innocents. We moved on to intercept the main Zycron fleet.

It was three days before we started to intercept Zycron transmission between their ships. We strategize the best plan of attack to wipe out the Zycron swiftly and with as little Human and Capria casualties as possible. The best strategy was to lure the Zycron fleet into an asteroid field, to try and take out some of their ships to even the odds a little. Our ships were faster so we could egg them on into chasing us into the field.

Because of their ravenous nature and no fear of death they started to chase our ships and went right into the asteroid field. We lost two Human ships and five were badly damaged, but the Zycron lost half of their fleet. Now instead of 100 to 1, the odds were 50 to 1. We celebrated our victory as we continued to fight the Zycron. We fought Zycron for two days.

In those two days, many men were lost to the extreme fighting that was taking place all over the solar system. There were many large battles and many small ones that would split off from the main battle. The Zycron ships would move in swarm formations trying to cut a hole through the front line to cut off the human ships from the Earth and any reinforcements. This was a deadly technique because of how many Zycron ships would be in the formation.

During the fighting, the outer colonies in places like Europa and Saturn’s moons were massively affected many resources were taken from those colonies to support the war effort and ensure a victory. In order to win a crucial battle one of the Saturn colonies had to be sacrificed. That on sacrifice killed a billion people. The entire moon was scorched, nothing survived the devastation. Some were evacuated off the moon only to put right into the war and fighting the Zycron.

In the end, we had lost 64,000 ships, 32 million men, and 12 Capria. The Zycron had lost all but five ships. There were only five million Zycron left, as well as the Prime. We surrounded the Zycron and destroyed four ships, leaving the Prime’s ship. The Capria boarded their ship and took the Prime. Then we destroyed the last Zycron ship.

The Capria took the prime because of her DNA. she was the last of the original Zycron from 1000s of years ago. The Capria did not know what they would do with her, because after everything was said and done it was their fault the Zycron did everything they did.

The Capria were no longer in danger and settled down on Jupiter which was close to the same conditions as on their former home world. They terraformed Jupiter to make it perfect for them to grow and become a civilization again. With their new knowledge of other species in the galaxy, the rest of the Human fleet went home and sat ready in case of another attack. The CF once again established order and peace on Earth and the Colonies. We were once again safe and able to prosper.
